Autumn perspective

I was thinking about how I like this time of year. As a child I learned to like it because it meant my allergy season was at an end. As an adult I learned to appreciate it on the golf course of all places. This time of year the sun stays much lower in the sky...closer to the horizon. There seems to be more light out there in the distance...on the horizon...where the future lays. Therefore, there is less light on the here and the now. The shadows in the present are stretched longer because of the different perspective of the light.
In the summer time there is so much brightness...everything seems to be washed out. With the sun more directly overhead the shadows are less, giving less perspective-like an over exposed photograph. With the season of Fall, just as in the Fall of our lives, we have the gift of more perspective.
